"I created the Questioning PowerPoint with the beginner and trainee teacher in mind. I hoped to draw attention to the function and importance of questioning so that practitioners can conceptualise how it can benefit their students and how it can be a useful tool in the teacher tool box and not just a ‘thing that we are told that we must do’. I particularly enjoy questioning to create rapport with students to really diagnose how the student works. Careful questioning will indicate to you whether the student has truly understood the concept or whether they are simply repeating back to you what they have memorised, therefore it is well worth taking the time to plan diagnostic and hinge questions".
