Hi
These are the slides I used during a morning CPD session at HACH discussing our trial regarding verbal feedback.
It is still a working process and learning is taking place all the time (the kids and myself). In this presentation you will see some of the strategies I have adopted to ensure the most effective way of getting pupils to reflect on their own work without me having to write a thing in their books.
After reading this book it gave me a fantastic insight into how another school in London gives feedback to their pupils and the ideas we are trialling our purely from this case study.
Extremely important to get the settings right within the classroom in order to be able to get the pupils listening correctly in order for them to be able to reflect and make changes within their work.
I verbally gave my feedback to the class with some important tips left on the board. The names in the boxes were pupils who I had either praised for work rate, presentation or fantastic work produced and for the opposite i.e. not having done enough work etc.

Some general staff comments sent to me regarding the verbal feedback trial.
The importance of this slide is that we should be using this feedback to help our planning. So not only do the pupils get to become more independent and reflective in their own work but to use this as a planning tool to help sustain rapid progress with our pupils.
